LOS ANGELES - CALIFORNIA

WAJDA DAYS is a distinguished cultural initiative honoring the legacy of Andrzej Wajda - one of the most influential voices in world cinema - in Los Angeles, the global capital of the film industry.

Held in direct dialogue with the Hollywood community, the project offers a rare opportunity to present Wajda’s artistic achievements within the very environment that shapes contemporary global filmmaking. The tribute will engage representatives of the American film industry, members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, leading creative guilds including the Directors Guild of America, Producers Guild of America, and Writers Guild of America - as well as cultural institutions, music organizations (including GRAMMY® representatives), and academic circles.

Andrzej Wajda was awarded the Honorary Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement, recognizing his profound and enduring contribution to the art of cinema. WAJDA DAYS seeks to reafirm the international significance of his work and to illuminate the vital role of Polish cinema in shaping European and global film narratives.

The program will feature curated screenings of selected masterpieces, accompanied by scholarly introductions and discussions, as well as panel conversations, a live musical event inspired by Wajda’s cinematic universe, industry dialogues, and networking gatherings dedicated to film and art professionals.

Beyond its commemorative dimension, WAJDA DAYS serves as a platform for cultural diplomacy - strengthening artistic exchange between Poland and the United States, fostering collaboration across creative communities, and celebrating Polish culture before an international audience in Los Angeles, including both global cultural leaders and the Polish diaspora.
